Me.
I was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. at the age of 1. I’m the 2nd of 4 siblings.
My first international trip was to Spain, Portugal, and Marrocco, with my high school art class, and it sparked in me the desire to see the world.
I graduated from the University of Washington (GO DAWGS!) and continued to travel while in school.
Some of my favorites are: sushi, audio books, Seattle summers, farmer’s markets, and writing in my planner (IYKYK!).

My crew
My husband, Eddie, and my “E Boys”. They’re energetic, hilarious, and curious. They LOVE music and keep me on my toes.
Being a mom + an author means you will catch my boys being my photographers, models, at meetings, or front and center at readings :)
Some of our family favorites include: Kraken hockey! Sushi, bubble tea, traveling, going on walks/bike rides, exploring new parks, farmer’s markets, soccer, and hanging out with family.
My stories are love letters to my boys.
I want them, and other BIPOC children, to see themselves reflected in the books I write.
Q & A

I've always found it easier to express my feelings through writing rather than verbally. When my first son was born, I felt a deep need to make sure he knew—without a doubt—just how much I love him. I didn’t want to fall short trying to find the “right” words. So, Forever Home was born—an open love letter to him, and later, to my second son. It’s my way of reminding them that no matter where life takes them, they are always loved, supported, and safe. They’ll always have a place to land. A home—in my arms, and in my heart.

Some of my earliest childhood memories are of playing in the car with my older sister while our parents worked in the fields, or running through the orchards playing tag—avoiding the irrigation system because we believed a "wolf" lived there. That world shaped my childhood and who I am today. Washington Apples is my way of honoring that part of my story and passing those lessons on to my children.
Now more than ever, it’s important to humanize the hands that feed us. This book is my small contribution to push back against hatred, racism, and xenophobia—and to encourage conversations with children rooted in empathy, compassion, and the beauty of diversity.

Yes! I’m currently working on a book titled Ivan’s Seizure Helpers—a story that introduces basic seizure first aid to elementary-aged children in a gentle, age-appropriate way. It was inspired by my own son, who has experienced multiple febrile seizures. My hope is that this book follows him through elementary school, offering peace of mind to families like mine and raising awareness in classrooms about how to respond with empathy and confidence.
